About Firestop

Fire is sinister, quickly slipping through any opening, no matter how small, to expand its devastation. Buildings need much more than sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and alarm systems to limit the damage done by fire. Effective fire suppression needs to stop fire in its tracks, even in places where water can’t reach. Ensure your building’s fire-resistance rating is maintained.

Deficiency Group’s trained firestop team can address openings of any size that may allow fire to spread. By attending to both the gaping holes as well as the tiniest of gaps, we ensure fire is contained and fire protection plans are followed.

Addressing the slab edge, curtain walls, joints between walls and floor assemblies, as well as pipe penetration we carefully and completely fill the gaps with the right materials. We are often called to deal with firestop re-entry, which happens often when a tradesperson has created a hole in a fire-resistance rated wall for pipes or wires. The hole created for those pipes and wires leaves an easy conduit for fire to spread. What could once have been contained longer to one room, now uses those tradespeople’s work to spread and damage more space.

With Deficiency Group’s firestop work, ensure your building doesn’t have the gaps that allow fire to damage more space and hurt more people.

Trades don’t always respect or understand firestop products and ratings. Get firestop developer deficiencies addressed before dangerous situations arise.
